Interpellations on Western Sahara in Danish Parliament

Submitted on

Copenhagen (Denmark) May 9, 2015 (SPS) - Member of the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), representing the Red-Green Alliance Party, Mr. Christian Juhl, has recently addressed various questions to Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Martin Lideggard, related to Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa.

Among the topics raised to the Minister issues related to MINURSO’s human rights mandate, illegal exploitations of the territory’s Natural resources, the recent stand of the African Union concerning Western Sahara, the UN peace process deadlock and whether the African Union stand in any way will lead to the strengthening of Danish or EU initiatives to promote the peace process in Western Sahara.

It is worth noting that the actual Danish Government supports MINURSO’s human Rights mandate in Western Sahara. (SPS)
