Fisahara demands respect for rights of Saharawi people

Dakhla (Refugee Camps), May 3, 2015 (SPS) The International Film Festival in Western Sahara (Fisahara) demanded the respect of the rights of the Saharawi people to self-determination and a dignified life, in a statement at the closing of its 12th edition held in Dakhla from 29 April to 2 May 2015.

 

Member of theNational Secretariat of the Polisario Front, in charge of the Political Direction, Mr. Salem Lebsir, called foreign delegations to be messengers of the Saharawi people to transmit to the world the reality of the Sahrawi people fighting for over 40 years for its right to self-determination.

 

 In this respectthe Saharawi official called on the international community to put pressure on Morocco to comply with the international law and allow the Saharawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination.

 

 For her part, the Minister of Culture, Mrs. Khadija Hamdi, welcomed the participants and all those who have contributed to the holding and success of this edition, which was held for 5 days in good conditions.

 

The Executive Directorof the festival, Maria Carrion, dubbed the event recreational space for children, a training to the Saharawi youth in the field of cinema and an encouragement for the group of human rights activists from the occupied territories of Western Sahara.

 

Directors, producers, filmmakers, activists, supporters of human rights and members of the solidarity movement with the Saharawi people in over 20 countries worldwide took part in the 12th edition of International Film Festival in Western Sahara, it should be recalled. (SPS)
