Shaheed Elhafed (Refugee Camps), March 26, 2015 (SPS) - The Prime Minister, Abdelkader Taleb Omar, received Wednesday, at the Presidency of the Republic, the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross.

In a statement to the national press, the Prime Minister affirmed that "the meeting discussed the next stations of the United Nations in light of submitting the report  in April to the UN Security Council on the developments related to the situation in Western Sahara. "

"The meeting allowed the Saharawi party to reiterate to the United Nations the need to assume their responsibilities in the decolonization of Western Sahara and to determine the part that blocks the process in a clear and obvious way".

"We cannot continue to tolerate this violation of human rights, looting of natural resources and organizing unjust forums in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, in blatant violation of international law," added the Prime Minister.

"The time has come for the United Nations to take clear measures to keep away tension and specter of war in this region," he said, stressing that "the region can no longer bear more threats to security."

The Prime Minister reiterated that the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for Western Sahara took note of the positions and he will convey them to the United Nations Secretary General and members of the Security Council. (SPS)
