Italian Democratic Party reaffirms support to Sahrawi people self-determination

Roma, March 24, 2015 (SPS) - Mr. Luciano Fique, in charge of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Italian Democratic Party, reaffirmed Monday the support of his party to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination.

 

Luciano Fique expressed the support of his party  to the United Nations efforts for a just and lasting solution to the conflict in Western Sahara, during a meeting with Advisor to Saharawi Foreign Ministry Mr. Sidi Mohamed Omar, who is on a visit to Italy in the framework of the International Campaign against the Moroccan wall of shame.

 

From his part, Mohamed Omar, accompanied by Sahrawis diplomat Ms. Fatma Mahfud, briefed Mr. Luciano on the latest developments related to the Western Sahara conflict and humanitarian situation resulting from the existence of the wall with millions of mines planted by the Moroccan army which constitutes a danger to the civilians on both sides in Western Sahara.

The Saharawi official held also meeting with Boul Dichi, political adviser to the International Commission for the Development of Peoples, who expressed the full support of his organization to the campaign and its objectives. (SPS)
