Polisario Front delegation hold talks with Russian officials in Moscow

 Moscow, February 28, 2015 (SPS) A Polisario Front delegation, led by the Saharawi Coordinator with MINURSO, M'hamed Khaded, held talks during their visit in Rusia with many Russian officials, according to the Polisario Front representation in Moscow.

 

 The delegation was received at the Institute of Oriental Studies in the Russian Academy of Sciences by its President Mr. Vitaly Naumkin.

 

 On this occasion, a debate conference with academics and experts was organized around the theme "Western Sahara, the prospects for peace."

 

 It was also received at the headquarters of the Union of Russian Oil and Gas Producers by Vice President Dr. Gissa Guchetl. The discussions revolved around the possibilities of cooperation between the two parties in the field of energy and mining.

 

 The Saharawi delegation made a broad presentation of economic potential of Western Sahara and the SADR relations with foreign companies that have already signed exploration agreements especially in the field of oil.

 

 The two sides agreed to meet again to continue the dialogue and to identify areas of future cooperation.

 

 The delegation met, at the headquarters of the Russian Council on International Affairs, with Director General of this influential institution of diplomatic advice Mr. Andrey V. Kortunov in the presence of some experts.

 

 The Polisario Front delegation highlighted the current situation in Western Sahara, underlining that the continuation of the status quo is harmful not only for the Saharawi people but also for the peace and stability in the region. (SPS)
