Saharawi political prisoner Mbarek Daodi to enter hunger strike in protest of Crans Montana Forum

Submitted on

Sale (Rabat), Feb 23, 2015 (SPS) - The Saharawi political prisoner, Mbarek Daoudi, has decided to enter a new open-ended hunger strike as from March 1st in protest of Crans Montana Forum’s intention to hold its annual seminar in the occupied Saharawi city of Dajla.

Mbarek Dadoudi, waiting to be tried since 2013, aims through his hunger strike to show his rejection to the holding of the Crans Montana Forum.

Family of the prisoner declared, in a letter, that the move will contribute to legitimizing the illegal occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco, and thus enlarge the suffering of the Saharawi people.

The family called upon the UN Security Council, states of the world and human rights organizations to boycott the Forum, since it is a flagrant violation of international law and encouragement to Morocco’s aggression against the Saharawi people. (SPS)
