Governor of Awserd praises Not Forgotten International’s work in Saharawi refugee camps

Awserd, Feb 22, 2015 (SPS) - The Governor of Awserd, Mr. Salek Baba Hasanna, on Saturday praised the work done by the U.S. non-governmental organization “Not Forgotten International” to consolidate solidarity and humanitarian action in the Saharawi refugee camps.


In a meeting with the ONG Executive Director Ms. Janet Lenz, the official hailed the efforts being made by the Organization to consolidate solidarity and humanitarian action for Saharawi refugees.


Ms. Lenz, for her part, highlighted the deep relations binding the U.S. and Saharawi people, hoping to build a strong Saharawi English-speaking generation capable of raising awareness about their issue.


The meeting examined the ways to open a school to teach the English language in Awserd.


Not Forgotten International is currently implementing several humanitarian programs in the Saharawi refugee camps, of which Essalem English Center, family gardens, Moringa tree and more recently the distribution of a range of gifts to Saharawi children. (SPS)
