El Aaiun (occupied territories), Feb 2, 2015 (SPS) - Two Saharawi human rights organizations called the chairman of the Crans Montana Forum to cancel the organization of the next edition in the Saharawi occupied city of Dajla.
In two letters addressed to chairman of the Forum, the Saharawi Collective of human rights defenders (CODESA) and the Sahrawi Association for the Protection and Promotion of the Saharan heritage (ASPDCPS) expressed astonishment at the decision of the Forum to hold its annual meeting at a town in Western Sahara, a region internationally marked by the conflict between Morocco and the Polisario Front and where activates the UN mission for the organization of referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) since 1991.
“It could be more appropriate for the forum to visit the territory to meet the Sahrawi associations and organizations banned by Morocco and see the violations of human rights committed against the Saharawi civilians by Morocco,” the CODESA said. (SPS)
