Minister of National Defense disapproves sending Saharawi troops to La Güera region

Chahid Al Hafed, January 17, 2015 (SPS) - the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Mohamed Lamine Bouhali has disapproved sending Saharawi military forces to the Saharawi liberated area of La Güera, considering the strong coordination between the Western Sahara and the Mauritanian authorities.

 


The Minister of National Defense highlighted, in a statement to (SPS) on Saturday, that the ministry started military patrols two weeks ago, to prevent drugs coming from Morocco along the wall of shame, which is a “real” source of constant threat and a danger to the security and stability of the region.

 

 

Mr. Mohamed Lamine Bouhali, Said that the Ministry of National Defense has decided to tighten control through strict procedures in coordination with the military leaders, in order to reduce the activity of smugglers, adding that this move has achieved positive results.

 


Minister of National Defense said to (SPS) that the Saharawi and Mauritanian authorities are in a constant contact in line with memorandum of understanding of the African Union countries in the framework of security and stability between the AU countries.

 

 

It should be recalled that these measures were adopted during the meeting of the Staff of Saharawi People's Liberation Army, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz. (SPS)
