9 June School (Refugee Camps), December 17, 2014 (SPS) – The Vice-President of Mozambican parliament, Lucas Chomera Jeremias, stressed Tuesday at the headquarters of the Saharawi National Council that the independence of Africa is incomplete as long as the last case of decolonization in Africa, Western Sahara is under colonial occupation.
"Mozambique does not feel independent when an African country is under colonial occupation and the Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa is still occupied," said he said in a statement to the national press.
"We participated in the 5th International Conference in Algeria to reaffirm our solidarity with the struggle of the brother Sahrawi people for national independence and today we bring the Saharawi people a message of support and friendship, like our predecessors who visited the Saharawi people like Joaquim Chissano and our Ambassador to SADR and Algeria," Mr. Chomera said.
"This visit allowed us to discover the determination of the Saharawi people to snatch their independence. With the combination of our efforts we will impose on Morocco to respect the rights of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence. (SPS)
