Sahrawi political prisoner Yahya Mohamed Elhafed denied right to medication

Submitted on

Marrakech (Morocco), December 17, 2014 (SPS) – The prison administration in Marrakech, Morocco, prevented Tuesday Sahrawi political prisoner Yahya Mohamed Elhafed from the right to medication and refused to transfer him to hospital to receive some necessary medical examinations.

According to Sahrawi human rights sources in the place, the prison administration refused to transfer him to hospital because he did not want to put on the prison suit for the reason that it degrades his dignity as a prisoner of opinion.

His family said he had been suffering from several diseases since the first months of his imprisonment due to the dire conditions and ill-treatment which he was subjected to in various Moroccan prisons, added the sources. (SPS)
