Oran, December 11, 2014 (SPS) -Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra called on Thursday in Oran the international community to redouble efforts to resolve the issue of Western Sahara in accordance with the law and international resolutions.

"It is imperative, in 2015, the Saharawi issue gets out of the rut it is in. In this regard, we must redouble our efforts to achieve this goal," said the minister, at a press briefing at the end of the works of the 2nd seminar on Peace and security in Africa.

"The year 2015 will mark the forty years of the decision taken by the International Court of Justice on Western Sahara calling on the UN General Assembly to resolve this issue through a self-determination referendum for the Saharawi people," he stated.

"The international community must not give in to the difficulties and obstacles. It must regroup to end the suffering of the Saharawi people and find a democratic solution to this issue which lasted too long, in accordance with international human rights," Lamamra added. (SPS)
