Windhoek (Namibia), Dec 07, 2014, (SPS) – Namibian minister of foreign affairs Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has demanded the implementation of  resolution 1514 on Western Sahara, during a meeting with the diplomatic corps accredited to Namibia.

“We do not understand why the UN does not want to commit itself and insure the implementation of the resolution 1514 on Western Sahara” Namibian minister of foreign affairs said.

She also stressed that “Namibia will continue to demand for the implementation of this resolution, because it is the only way our international organization can really be seen incredible, and the citizens of this world can have their trust on this organization”.

It should be recalled, that the 1514 resolution issued by the United Nations General Assembly in 1960, provides for the granting of the right to self-determination for the colonized peoples and countries.

Western Sahara and Namibia, as well as the two movements “SWAPO and Polisario Front” have friendship ties, and diplomatic relations since June 1990. (SPS)
