Boujdour (refugee camps), Nov 18, 2014 (SPS) - Head of the US delegation to the 9th Religions’ Dialogue for Peace, Ms. Janet Lenz, on Sunday said that the U.S. Congress “is well-informed about the ongoing suffering of the Saharawi people in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, especially Morocco’s violations of human rights.”

Addressing the opening ceremony of the Dialogue, Ms. Lenz voiced strong support to the Saharawi cause, hoping that the Saharawi people will one day enjoy freedom and independence.

Concerning the Religions’ Dialogue for Peace, she noted that such conference is not a quarrel between the followers of both Islam and Christianity, but it is a space to exchange ideas in an atmosphere of constructive discussion and mutual respect.

Held in the period from 16 to 18 November 2014, the 9th Religions’ Dialogue for Peace is organized in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawi refugee camps under the theme “Prophet Yunus in the Holy Books”. (SPS)
