Dakhla (Occupied Territories) September 29, 2014 (SPS) - The occupied city of Dakhla has become under an unprecedented state of siege since the early hours of Monday, following the death of Sahrawi political prisoner Hasena Elwali Aleya.

The city also witnesses popular peaceful demonstrations after the announcement of the death of Sahrawi political prisoner due to his deteriorating health as a result of medical negligence, according to his family.

Demonstrators toured several streets to denounce the "heinous" crime, which adds to the Moroccan regime registry of crimes against the Saharawi human rights activists.

They called for a transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of the Saharawi prisoner of conscience.

The Moroccan occupation forces used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, leaving at least 16 injured, said the source.  (SPS)
