Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Sept 17, 2014 (SPS) - The Council of Ministers has warned of the influence of drugs coming from Morocco on the security and stability in the region, calling on the Saharawi people to stand in the face of Moroccan occupation’s intrigues and policies.

In a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting held Tuesday, the Council called upon Saharawi citizens to stand strong in the face of Moroccan plots, intensify the action of struggle, consolidate the means of resistance and stick to their national unity.

The Council went on saying that the flow of drugs that passes through Morocco constitutes a “funding to the terrorist groups and organized-crime gangs operating the region.”

Calling for the success of the Alert Plan set forth by the National Secretariat of the Frente Polisario, the Council of Ministers hailed the resistance of Saharawi masses in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, condemning “strongly” the acts of repression being carried out by Moroccan occupying forces against the Saharawi citizens.

It, in this respect, deplored the tight security siege and the expulsion of international observers from the occupied Saharawi territories by Morocco.

Denouncing Morocco’s continuous obstruction to the settlement efforts, the Council said that a solution to the conflict of Western Sahara will only be possible if the Saharawi people exercise their right to self-determination and independence.

The communiqué also urged the United Nations (UN) to assume “full responsibility” to speed up the decolonization of Western Sahara, release all the Saharawi political prisoners and establish a UN mechanism to protect, monitor and report about human rights in the occupied Western Sahara.

Chaired by the President of the Republic Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, the meeting discussed in detail the Alert Plan put forward by the 9th regular session of the national Secretariat of the Polisario Front. (SPS)
