Moroccan authorities expel Basque delegation from occupied Dakhla

Dakhla (Occupied Territories) September 13, 2014 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities expelled Thursday Spanish human rights delegation from the Basque region from the occupied city of Dakhla to the Moroccan city of Agadir .

 

"We were informed by the Moroccan authorities that we are persona non grata," said a member of the delegation after the expulsion.

 

The delegation was planning to hold meetings with Sahrawi activists and defenders of human rights on the serious violations of human rights perpetrated by the Moroccan occupation authorities against the Sahrawi citizens.

 

The members of the delegation visited the occupied city of Boujdour, where they were informed of the Moroccan practices against Saharawi civilians and the siege imposed on the occupied Western Sahara.

 

The delegation, representing the organization of ASCABINA, consists of Ane Lasa Garmendia  and Joxe Ramon Zapirain.

 

Morocco expelled since April more than 40 international observers from the occupied territories of Western Sahara from several countries including Spain, France, Canada and Norway, it should be recalled. (SPS)
