El Aaiun (occupied territories), Sept 11, 2014 (SPS) - French citizen Christel Letard was expelled Wednesday evening from the airport of the occupied city of El Aaiun, capital of Western Sahara, by the Moroccan occupying forces, informed a Saharawi right source.

According to the source, the French national was forced to board the same plane that brought her from the Moroccan city of Casablanca, without giving any reason to this action which violates human rights and freedoms.

Letard was aiming to report back on the situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, through meeting Saharawi human rights activists and defenders, said the source.

“Moroccan authorities told me that I am not welcomed, and thus I should go back to France,” the French citizen told reporters, after her expulsion from the occupied city of El Aaiun. (SPS)
