CODESA, ASVDH meet with US and Netherlands embassies in Rabat

El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), September 6, 2014 (SPS) – The two Sahrawi associations of human rights, the Collective of Sahrawi Human rights defenders (CODESA) and Sahrawi Association of Victims of Grave Human Rights Violations Committed by the Moroccan State (ASVDH) met the last week with representatives of the embassies of the United States and Netherlands in Rabat.

 

The meeting which took placein the occupied city of El Aaiun focused on the situation of human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, continuation of the Moroccan state to expel international observers and its violations of Sahrawi civil, political, economic and social rights.

 

It also addressed the persecutions suffered by Sahrawi such as arbitrary arrests and unfair trials related to the position on the issue of Western Sahara and participation in the peaceful demonstrations demanding the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and condemning the exploitation of the wealth of the region.
