Birlehlu (Liberated Territories), August 22, 2014 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz, condemned "forcefully" mistreatment by the Moroccan intelligence services against a Sahrawi human rights delegation at the Casablanca airport, which participated in the 5th edition of the summer university of the Polisario Front and SADR officials in Boumerdes, Algeria.

In a letter to the UN Secretary General, President Mohamed Abdelaziz called for an "immediate action to ensure the protection of Sahrawis and their legitimate rights."

Members of the Saharawi delegation "were subjected Friday night to exceptional measures, isolated from other passengers and locked up inside the airport," before being stripped of their personal belongings.

"Such behavior is an extension of the grave violations committed by the Moroccan State against the Saharawi civilians in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and southern Morocco, defending the UN Charter and resolutions calling to allow the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence," warned the President of the Republic.
