Eid Al-Fitr expected to be celebrated on Monday in some Islamic states

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), July 22, 2014 (SPS) - The crescent of the month of Shawwal, first day of Eid Al-Fitr, is expected to be observed on Sunday, 27th July 2014, in some Arab and Islamic states.


Several Arab Astronomy Institutes said that Monday, 28th July 2014, may be the first day of the month of Shawwal and first day of Eid Al-Fitr in some Arab and Islamic states.


Eid al-Fitr (Feast of Breaking the Fast) marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The first day of Eid falls on the first day of the month of Shawwal. (SPS)
