Italy called to contribute in allowing Saharawi people’s self-determination, says official

Rome, July 10, 2014 (SPS) - Member of the Italian Senate Mr. Stefano Vaccari has called on the government of his country to contribute in permitting the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence, emphasizing the need to respect human rights in the occupied territories of Western Sahara.


During a reception granted to the Saharawi children, Mr. Vaccari, also President of the Inter-Parliamentary Group for the Saharawi People, asked the international community and his country’s government to work hard in favour of the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.


The event was attended by members of Italian Parliamentary Intergroup for the Saharawi People, as well as the representatives of political parties, associations and municipalities in solidarity with the Saharawi people. (SPS)
