Seizure of considerable amount of processed cannabis coming from Morocco

Submitted on

Shaheed Hafed, June 7, 2014 (SPS) - The Ministry of Defense exhibited  Friday 975 kilograms of processed cannabis, seized by the Sahrawi  People's Liberation Army  during the years of 2012, 2013 and 2014 through points along the Moroccan military wall, which divides the Western Sahara and separates its people.

The exhibition which took place in the base of the Special Forces of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, was attended by the Minister of Defence member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Lamine Bouhali, along with members of the General Staff of the Sahrawi People's Liberation Army and judicial system, as well as representatives from the Office of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO).

Based on the decision of the Military Court and military measures in this regard, the amount of drug which contained several types of processed cannabis was destroyed.

It should be recalled that Morocco is ranked globally as the largest producer of cannabis, and the Moroccan occupation authorities aim from the exporting of these toxins to disseminate corruption among Sahrawi youth and exposing the Sahel-Sahara region to risk by funding terrorist groups. (SPS)
