Saharawi National Council approves Mining Law

June 9th School (refugee camps), May 27, 2014 (SPS) - The Saharawi National Council (parliament) ratified Monday by majority of votes the mining draft law presented by the Government.


The mining draft law was under examination by the Council’s economic committee in consultation with the executive body, actors and legal experts.


Speaking on the occasion, President of the Council Mr. Khatri Addouh described the move as “positive step” in the direction of setting up the building block of a future Saharawi state, as a political, security and commercial partner with neighbouring countries.


Members of the Saharawi parliament approved on April 30th the agenda for the spring session, which includes the study and ratification of prison draft law submitted by the Government as well as mining and family draft laws presented by some parliamentarians. (SPS)
