Smara (refugee camps), March 4, 2014 (SPS) - The First Lady of Nigeria, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, has confirmed that the African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFPLM) is committed to support the Saharawi people.

In a speech delivered on her own behalf by Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory Ms. Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide, Dame Patience Goodluck, also AFPLM President, expressed unshakable solidarity to the Saharawi women and children, voicing support to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence.

The Nigerian minister said that their visit to the Saharawi refugee camps is a form of support to the Saharawi people’s rights to regain freedom and independence, a thing, added the Nigerian official, which would lead to achieving stability and security in Africa.

It should be recalled that a Nigerian delegation arrived today in the Saharawi Republic (SADR), in the aim to deliver about 1000 tonnes of food elements donated by the First Lady of Nigeria for the benefit of Saharawi women. (SPS)
