SADR takes part at 2nd High Level Meeting of Africa-EU Energy Partnership

Addis Ababa, Feb 13, 2014 (SPS) - A Saharawi delegation takes part at the Second High Level Meeting of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership, took place on 12-13 February in Addis Ababa, in the presence of more than 350 participants.


The Saharawi delegation is composed of Mr. Lamine Baali, permanent representative to the AU and ambassador in Ethiopia, Mr. Baba Omar Al-Bardi, first secretary at SADR embassy in Addis Ababa, and the engineer Ali Lehbib Legdaf, from the Saharawi directorate of energy.


Held under the theme “Africa and the EU are tackling energy challenges together”, the meeting was jointly hosted by the Ethiopian government and the African Union Commission (AUC).


It brought together more than 350 expert in the field of energy, including African and European Ministers, AU and EU Commissioners, representatives from regional institutions, international organizations, banking and finance groups, the private sector, the civil society and the media.


The high-level meeting invited the governments and international organizations to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership 2020, in the aim to exploit and rationalize available energy.


This African-EU gathering was an opportunity for the Saharawi delegation to meet a range of participants, a thing that highlights the prestigious place enjoyed by the Saharawi State within the African Union. (SPS)
