Christopher Ross expected again in region late February

Agweinit (liberated territories), Jan 6, 2014 (SPS) - Speaker of the Saharawi National Council (Parliament) and Head of Polisario Front’s delegation to the negotiations with Morocco Mr. Khatri Addouh revealed Wednesday that the UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, expected again in the region in late February to prepare for a new round of negotiations between the Polisario Front and Morocco.


"Mr. Ross told us that he will make a new tour in the region in late February to prepare for a meeting between the two parties to the conflict, in the aim to restart negotiations for the decolonization of Western Sahara," Mr. Addouh told Algeria’s Press Service (APS) in the margins of the 17th conference of Saharawi community in Mauritania, concluded its work yesterday in the Saharawis liberated territory of Agweinit.


He also noted that the Saharawi cause has recorded considerable headway in the last three years, highlitghting that international community "has strongly been convinced that the Moroccan approach autonomy is no longer valid."


"The international community is convinced now, more than ever, that the resolution of the Western Sahara conflict must go through the self-determination of the Saharawi people," he added. (SPS)
