Harare, Jan 5, 2014 (SPS) - Ambassador of the Saharawi Republic Mr. Deich Mohamed Saleh has been received Monday in Harare by Mrs. Edna Madzongwe, president of the Senate, and Jacob Francis Mudenda, speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, a source from the Saharawi embassy told SPS.
During the meeting, the President of Zimbabwe’s Senate Mrs. Edna Madzongwe reaffirmed her country’s commitment to continue supporting the just Saharawi cause, expressing, in the same regard, her concern over the incomplete decolonization of Western Sahara.
She also expressed preoccupation about the gross violations of human rights carried out by the Moroccan Kingdom in the occupied Western Sahara.
Speaker of Zimbabwe’s National Assembly Mr. Jacob Francis Mudenda, for his part, voiced commitment to remain by the side of the Saharawi people in their struggle for freedom and independence.
The two Zimbabwean officials expressed intention to boost to the required level the bilateral relations between the Zimbabwean and Saharawi legislative bodies.
The Saharawi ambassador took this opportunity to inform his interlocutors about Morocco’s gross human rights violations and plunder of Western Sahara natural resource. (SPS)
