Seizure of 824 kilos of cannabis coming from Morocco

Mheiriz (liberated territories), Jan 22, 2014 (SPS) - Teams of the Saharawi National Gendarmerie, operating in the 5th Military Region, have seized a total of 824 kilos of cannabis were to be smuggled to drug gang operating between Morocco and northern Mali, informed a Saharawi security source.


The operation was carried out at night, where groups coming from Morocco put their load of drugs in a place close to the Moroccan military wall, which divides Western Sahara, and sent coordinates of their place through developed communication devices, incluidng Thuraya, to other gangs.


This is the third time since mid-2013 that amounts of these poisons been seized.


In doing so, Moroccan occupying authorities try to circulate such scourges among the Saharawi youth, as to endanger the Sahel and Sahara region. (SPS)
