ALGIERS, December 23, 2013 (SPS)Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi asserted Saturday in Algiers that his country is in favour of resolving the issue of Western Sahara according to the United Nations resolutions, expressing its readiness to play a constructive role in this context.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra, following their talks, the Chinese minister said that the issue of Western Sahara "affects the solidarity between the Maghreb countries and the integration of the region, and this must be resolved within the framework of UN resolutions," saying that "China is ready to play a constructive role in this context. "
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi is visiting Algeria as part of the celebration of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and China. (SPS)
