Accra, Dec 20, 2013 (SPS) - The Republic of Ghana reaffirmed Thursday its "strong support" to the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination and independence, reported a statement issued by SADR embassy in Accra.
In a response letter to the declaration of protest against Moroccan regime, signed by more than 200 Ghanaians, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana stated that Ghana "has always supported the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination."
The letter, which published Thursday by the Ghanaian newspapers, confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ghana "shares the views and concerns expressed in the letter of protest concerning the question of Western Sahara."
Reaffirming to continue to defend and plead for the Saharawi people in all international foras, Ghana’s foreign ministry called on the international community to take advanced steps to achieve the independence of Western Sahara. (SPS)
