El Aaiun (Occupied Territories), December 8, 2013 (SPS) – Dozens of Sahrawi citizens were injured Saturday evening by the ‘violent’ intervention of the Moroccan occupation forces to break up a demonstration in Smara Street in the occuped city of el Aaiun, called for by the Coordination of Gdeim Izik, according to the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities Abroad.
The demonstration continued for ten minutes before the Moroccan repressive forces intervened forcfully, in official and civilian uniforms, to disperse the demonstrators, whom some of them were tranformed to hospital for treatment.
The demonstrators chanted slogans demanding the release of sahrawi political prisoners and condemning the systematic pillage of Sahrawi natural resources. (SPS)
