WFDY reasserts right of Saharawi people to self-determination

Quito (Ecuador), December 8, 2013 (SPS) - The President of World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), comrade Tiago Vieira, renewed support to the right of Sahrawi people to freedom and self-determination, in a speech on the occasion of the 18th World Festival of Youth and Student launched Saturday  in Quito, Ecuador.

 

He said the position is consistent with the goals of the organization in defending the values ​​of freedom, justice and the right of peoples to self-determination, calling on youth to unite for a world of peace, solidarity and social transformation.

 

The 18th World Festival of Youth and Students opened  December 7th – 13th, in the Ecuadorian capital, Quito, under the theme ' Youth unite against imperialism, for a world of peace, solidarity and social transformation', with the participation of delegations representing more than 83 countries from around the world.

 

 

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and official delegations from several countries, including the Sahrawi Republic, represented by the Minister of Vocational Training and Public Function Ms. Khira  Bellahi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Mohammed Moloud Mohammed Fadel, Saharawi Ambassador to Venezuela and Ecuador, Mr. Mohamed Salem Daha.  (SPS)
