Call for support to Saharawi women’s fight for independence

Submitted on

BOUJDOUR (Saharawi Refugee Camps), December 8, 2013 (SPS) - The international conference on women’s role in liberation movements called Saturday, in the Sahrawi Refugee Camp of Boujdour, for an international support to Saharawi women in their fight for their country’s independence.

The participants, in their final communiqué, called "civil societies around the world to adhere to solidarity actions for peace and just causes, such as the Saharawi cause."

The final statement denounced "the intransigence of Moroccan occupation authority which flouts international laws and resolutions which described the Saharawi cause as a decolonization issue since 1963."

It stresses "the deterioration of human rights situation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, while Morocco continues to commit serious human rights abuses." (SPS)
