Office of National Secretariat warns against signing any agreement between EU and Morocco including Sahrawi territorial waters

Submitted on

Shaheed El Hafed (Sahrawi refugee camps), December 7, 2013 (SPS)- The Office of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front renewed the warning that the signing of the European Union to any agreement with the Kingdom of Morocco which includes Sahrawi territorial waters would be a flagrant violation of international law, in a statement following a meeting Saturday chaired by Mr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, President of the Republic, Secretary general of the Polisario front.

The agreement also would be shameful implication of the European peoples in an aggression against a defenseless and oppressed people, whose land is occupied by Moroccan military force, as well as encouragement to the Moroccan state of occupation to continue in violations of international law and human rights, the statement further said.

The Office of the National Secretariat discussed some future events such as the Eighth Congress of Sahrawi Youth Union which will take place from 29 to 31 December, with the participation of international youth, and the international conference which will be held in Algiers from 14 to 15 December, under the theme "the right of peoples to resist, the case of the Saharawi people."

Finally, the Office of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front paid tribute to the memory of the global African icon, Nelson Mandela, died Thursday at 95 at his home in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Office of the National Secretariat set 25 December, the date for holding the seventh ordinary session of the National Secretariat. (SPS)
