Algiers, Nov 27, 2013 (SPS) - Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) along with other 8 African countries will take part at the first African regional workshop on the “right to education for everyone,” to kick off today in Algiers, said Monday the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a communiqué, quoted by the Algerian Press Service (APS).

This three-day workshop will be organized by the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR).

Nine countries including Algeria, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Senegal, Chad and Tunisia will participate at this event.

It will be supervised by ACHPR’s Deputy President, Chairman of Working Group on the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of this institution, Bechir Khalfallah.

United Nations’ special reporter on the right to education, the representatives of UNICEF and civil society operating in the field of education, will also take part in this meeting.

The event will allow “exchange of experiences and sharing of good practices” in the field of education in order to enable African States “to achieve the second Millennium Development Goal: ensuring primary education to everyone,” said the communiqué. (SPS)
