We are working for self-sufficiency and youth employment, says Saharawi Equipment Minister

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps),Nov 27, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Minister of Equipment Mr. Sid Ahmed Batal revealed that his institution has engaged since 4 years ago in a new strategic orientation in order to create a set of light industries in the fields of nutrition and hygiene, in the aim to provide self-sufficiency and youth employment, highlighting willingness to broaden the scope of such experience to include new areas.


In an interview with SPS, Saharawi Minister said that his institution “has developed a strategy under which new units of productions in the areas of hygiene, sewing, clothing and leather manufacturing process are created.”


"The new trend is based on a strategy aims at covering the special services of health and educational institutions, and employing qualified young people in those areas," he underlined.


This project, added the Sahaarwi official, has met with approbation and satisfaction from the international organizations assisting the Saharawis people and the other actos.


The Saharawi Ministry of Equipment provides the citizens with some of the services such as housekeeping, tents, in addition to hygiene means.


It also meets the needs of the institutions of health and education.


The Ministry marked yesterday, Tuesday, its national day in the presence of the Prime Minister Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, and a number of foreign aid workers.


Among those international organizations, who were present at the event, are the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID), Swedish organization "Emmaus", Spanish Red Cross, in addition to some organizations and associations from Italy, France and Algeria.
