Livorno (Italy), Nov 20, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Municipality of 27 th February and the Italian Colley Salopette signed Tuesday a twinning agreement, in the presence of Saharawi delegation, Italian officials and members of Saharawi community living in the municipality.
This twinning was signed from the Saharawi side by Ms. Fatima al-Mahdi, General Secretary of the National Union of Saharawi Women, and Mr. Lorenzo Paci, Governor of the Municipality of Colle Salpetta, from the Italian side.
The event was attended by Mr. Mohamed al-Mehdi Zarga, Polisario Front’s representative to Pisa and Livorno, and Saharawi human rights activists al-Mami Amar Salem, member of the Collective of Saharawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA).
This agreement is part of series of twinning agreements signed between several European and Saharawi municipalities, in the context of enlarging the scope of solidarity movement with the national cause. (SPS)
