Saharawi delegation comprised of Mr. Abdallahi Busheiba, Polisario Front’s representative in the city, as well as Mailmnin Sweih and Mohamed al-Motawakel, activists of human rights.
During this meeting, Saharawi delegation expressed gratitude and appreciation for Sesto Fiorentino’s support to the Saharawi people, and the brave initiatives made by Mr. Gianassi for the Saharawi cause, especially his travelling to the occupied city of El Aaiun to give the Honorary Citizen’s award to the Saharawi activist Aminatou Haidar, and his address before the UN Decolonization Committee.
The Italian official, for his part, applauded the courage of Saharawi people, reiterating his commitment to work in favour of allowing the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.
In relevant context, the Friendship Association in Sesto Fiorentino organized last Sunday a meeting with the Saharawi delegation, during which they focused on the grave situation experienced by Saharawis in the occupied territories and southern Morocco, due to Moroccan state’s persistence to commit further violations and practices degrading to human dignity.
