Rome, Nov 16, 2013 (SPS) - "Algeria will continue to support the Saharawi people in their struggle for independence in line with international law," Mr. Mahrez Lamari, President of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi people (CNASPS), said Friday in Rome.

"Algeria, which is true to its revolutionary history, will continue to assume its responsibilities until the system, dictated by international law and recognizing the right of the Saharawi people to self-determination, is prevailed" said Mr. Lamari at the opening session of the 38th European Conference of Coordination and Support to the Saharawi People (EUCOCO), taking place in Rome, the Italian capital.

He went on saying that Algeria "will continue to support the Saharawi cause whatever the maneuvers," declaring an intention to organize a large meeting of solidarity with the Saharawi people from 14 to 16 December in Algiers.

"Once he feels cornered by international opinion, Morocco turns attention to Algeria, which is not part in the conflict of Western Sahara," he said. (SPS)
