Saharawi refugee camps: malnutrition, gastritis, outcome of Moroccan colonization

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Nov 13, 2013 (SPS) - The living conditions in the Saharawi refugee camps, the outcome of Moroccan colonization and the cut in human relief due to the global economic crisis, are the root causes of the prevalence of pathologies in refugee camps as malnutrition and gastritis, life conditions in the refugee camps, a member of a voluntary association for the Saharawi cause.


"Saharawi population, especially the children who go through agonies, because of Moroccan colonization, which illegally despoiled them of their resources, trampling on international laws," said physician Mustapha Benyakhlef, a member of a periodic mission to Saharawi refugee camps, financed by the French association Triangle.


He added that the population suffer of malnutrition, growth retardation among children, thyroid hypertrophy and gastritis.


"The situation is also due to a shrink in humanitarian aid because of the global economic crisis." (SPS)
