Algiers, November 9, 2013 (SPS) - President of the Republic Secretary General of  Polisario Front Mohamed Abdelaziz expressed, Thursday, the wish that the visit of the US Secretary of State John Kerry to Morocco next week promotes a progress in the negotiation process between the Polisario Front and Morocco for the settlement of the Sahrawi issue.

"We hope that Kerry could convince Moroccan regime’s officials to release dozens of Sahrawi prisoners and obtain a progress in the process of negotiation between Morocco and the Polisario Front for the settlement of the Sahrawi issue in accordance with the international decisions," president Mohamed Abdelaziz told Algerian National Radio in an interview.

"The Sahrawi government sent recently a letter to Kerry and gave him information related to the developments of the Sahrawi issue and the injustices made to populations in the occupied territories. In this letter, we also mentioned Morocco’s refusal to respect decisions of the international legality concerning the settlement of the Sahrawi issue and the respect of human rights," he said.

US Secretary of State John Kerry will pay a visit next week to the Maghreb region where he’ll have discussions with officials in the visited countries on international issues. (SPS)
