Adala UK denounces serious deterioration in health of Sahrawi political prisoner

Submitted on

London November 4, 2013 (SPS) - Human rights organization “ Adala UK ” expressed its concern Monday, following the serious deterioration in health of Sahrawi political prisoner Laroussi Abdeljalil Lemghaimed.

The Sahrawi prisoner’s health, detained in the prison of Salé, “has worsened considerably these days, because of the mistreatment meted out by the Moroccan authorities to Sahrawi prisoners,” the NGO’s branch, based in the Great Britain, said, underlining that Abdeljalil’s case requires to be taken care in a hospital with appropriate equipment.

According to the organization, Salé’s detention administration doesn’t report on the health of the prisoners and “Abdeljalil is today under threat of death in the absence of appropriate care, despite the several calls from NGOs for the treatment of prisoners in accordance with the international law.” (SPS)
