Commencement of International Art Encounters and Human Rights in Western Sahara ‘ARTifariti’

 Boujdour (Sahrawi refuge camps ) November 3, 2013 (SPS) - The seventh edition of International Art Encounters and Human Rights in Western Sahara  ‘ARTifariti’ has commenced Sunday  in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Sahrawi refuge camps, with the participation of artists, sculptors and specialists in Fine Arts from Algeria, the United States, Britain , Venezuela , Mexico, Spain, in addition to Sahrawi artists and creators.

 

The launch of the event was supervised by Minister of Culture  Khadija Hamdi along with Association of Freinship with Sahrawi People in  Seville, Spain.  

 

During the event,  workshops will be organized by professors and specialists from the participating countries in topics related to painting, decoration and technical mechanisms, using arts as a message for liberation  especially given that the edition bears the slogan "The Art of the uprising".

 

The Minister of Culture indicated, in an interview with SPS, that the edition will be characterized by the launch on Tuesday of Sahrawi School of Arts, highlighting that the  participants will approve an international network to support the Sahrawi school.

 

The activities of the  event will continue throughout the week in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Sahrawi refuge camps. (SPS)
