Boujdour (refugee camps), Oct 31, 2013 (SPS) - 7th edition of the International Encounters of Art and Human Rights in Western Sahara, known as ARTifariti, will be celebrated in the Wilaya of Boujdour, Saharawi refugee camps, in the period from 3 to 8 November 2013, said Mr. Mustafa Mohamed Fadel, Secretary General of the Saharawi Ministry of Culture, in a statement to SPS.

More than 30 artists from different countries of the world, 44 Algerian and 108 Saharawi artists and trainees will be present at this cultural demonstration, added Mr. Mustafa.

This edition, underlined the Saharawi official, will complete the creation of the Sahrawi Art School, which is considered the fruit of the efforts made by the organizers and supervisors of the ARTifariti.

During this event, a twinning will be signed between the Saharawi Art School and the School of Fine Arts in the city of Tipaza, Algeria.

It should be recalled that ARTifariti is a project of the Saharawi Ministry of Culture and the Association of Friendship with the Saharawi People of Seville (AAPSS).

It was founded in 2007 as a collective action against the Moroccan Wall of Shame that fractures Western Sahara in two, separating Saharawi families between occupation and exile. (SPS)
