Talks with Ross focused on how to organize referendum and revive path of negotiations, says Khaddad

Chahid Al Hafed (refugee camps), Oct 19, 2013 (SPS) - The Saharawi Coordinator with the MINURSO Mr. Mhamed Kkaddad said Thursday that his talks with the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross, focused mainly on how to work for organizing the referendum and to revive the path of negotiations between the Polisario Front and Morocco under UN aegis.


In a statement to the press following Ross’s visit to the Saharawi refugee camps, Mr. Khaddad said that Ross will visit the region next November, adding that he is planning to hold a new round of negotiation between the Frente Polisario and Morocco, before the Security Council’s meeting next April.


Ross headed to the occupied cities of El Aaiun and Smara in Western Sahara, before visiting Mauritania and Algeria.He will brief the UN Security Council on this October 30th. (SPS)
