Dakhla (refugee camps), Oct 13, 2013 (SPS) - “The national unity of the Saharawi people is continuing to close ranks and preserve the gains achieved through blood and tears,” said Saturday, in the Saharawi refugee camp of Dakhla, Mr. Bachir Mustapha Sayed, Head of Polisario’s Political Organization Secretariat.

Speaking as part of the commemoration of the 38th anniversary of the Saharawi people’s national unity day, in the presence of several foreign delegations and members of the Saharawi government, Mr. Bachir underlined the importance of the celebration of this historic day for the Saharawi people.

“The national unity was sealed to face the trilateral savage aggressions, supported by the main western forces and the Gulf countries, against the defenseless Sahrawi people, at the moment where they were just about to harvest the fruit of their struggle against the Spanish occupation,” he said.

“The Sahrawi people, surprised by Morocco’s aggression and Spain’s betrayal, used all their genius to set up an overall plan which aims at dealing with the situation on all fronts”, he added.“The legitimate aspiration of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence is continuing and the sacrifices made to reach this objective have greatly contributed to the unification of peoples’ ranks,” underlined the official.
