New York, Sept 30, 2013 (SPS) - Namibia has reaffirmed solidarity with the Saharawi people, calling for the implementation of the UN Settlement Plan for Western Sahara.
“We reaffirm our solidarity with the people of Western Sahara, and call for the implementation of the UN Settlement Plan for Western Sahara,” said H.E. Mr. Hifikepunye Pohamba, President of the Republic of Namibia, in his speech during the general debate of the 68th session of the UN General Assembly.
Mr. Pohamba went on saying that the attainment of self-determination of peoples living under foreign occupation is one of the principles that this United Nations Organization was founded upon. (SPS)
