Submitted on

Algiers, Sept 29, 2013 (SPS) - A delegation of the Saharawi Jurists Union has participated in work of the International Conference on the Crisis of International Law, organized by Algeria’s Lawyers Organization and the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), in Algiers on 28-29 September 2013.

Addressing the conference, the Secretary General of the Saharawi Jurists Union Mr. Abba Heisan spoke about the legal aspects of the Saharawi cause and double-standard policy pursued by some influential countries to block the decolonization of Western Sahara in a blatant breach to international legitimacy and law.

The conference brought together lawyers, jurists and foreign dignitaries specialized in international law from many countries of the world such as the United States, France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, India, Philippines, South Africa, Togo, Lebanon, Turkey, Algeria, and the Saharawi Republic (SADR).

The Saharawi delegation, on other hand, attended a ceremony organized in honor of the late Amar Bentoumi, first minister of justice in Algeria, who was a staunch supporter of just causes across the world, including that of the Saharawi people. (SPS)
