The Sahrawi Republic participates in the XIX Meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo (Brazil), July 31,2013 (SPS) - The general secretary of the National Union of Saharawi Women, Fatma Mehdi participates in the XIX Edition of the Sao Paulo Forum, which started on Monday, July 29, 2013, with the goal of making a comprehensive diagnosis of the international situation and to adopt a regional action plan, with the central purpose, deepening changes and accelerating integration.

 

The meeting of this organization of left parties and progressive movement in Latin America, which will continue until next August 4, will have five Sectoral Meetings, such as the V Meeting of Youth, the Second Conference of Women, the I Afrondescendientes Meeting and meetings of parliamentarians and local and sub-national authorities. In parallel, 07 seminars and 21 Thematic Workshops will be organized.

 

Days 2 to 4 will be devoted to the discussion and adoption of resolutions and Final Declaration and the Policy Paper and Action Plan presented by the Forum’s Permanent, in which he remembers in particular that , " in on last Feb. 40th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and armed struggle of the Saharawi Republic as a free and independent state have been completed, without the cessation of Morocco as as colonial domination on the Sahrawi people ". The Action Plan calls for "Strengthening our struggle for peace, against external interference and solidarity with the struggling peoples, beginning with Palestine and the Sahrawi Republic".

 

Over 1300delegates and guests are Attending Sao Paulo’s XIX Forum. The Saharawi delegation is composed of Fatma Mehdi, Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and General Secretary of the National Union of Saharawi Women and Mohamed Zrug Larosi, Polisario representative to Brazil.
